Frequently asked questions
Everything you might wonder about sleepydear — how our stories are made, who they're for, and how we keep bedtime gentle and private. Can't find your answer? We're only an email away.
The stories
- sleepydear is a small collection of gentle bedtime stories, written and reviewed by hand to help little ones drift off to sleep. Every tale is built around a kind value and a calm arc that slows down, page by page, toward sleep.
- Stories are grouped by age range, from 0–2 up to early readers. The youngest ranges use the simplest words and softest scenes; older ranges add a little more story while staying calm and gentle.
- Every story is available in English, Português, Español and Français. Each one is carefully adapted — not just translated — so it reads naturally and sounds like home in your language.
- We add stories regularly, in small batches. We'd rather publish one story we've truly cared for than many we've rushed, so new tales arrive when they're ready.
- Most stories take just a few minutes to read aloud — long enough to settle into the night, short enough to finish before little eyes give up the fight against sleep.

How our stories are made
- Yes, and we're honest about it. AI helps us draft, but it never has the final word. Every story is shaped, edited and approved by us — two humans who read it the way you will: out loud, at the edge of a small bed.
- Nothing reaches your child without four quiet checks: written with intention around a single value, read out loud to catch anything that trips the tongue, checked for calm so nothing is scary or rushed, and carefully carried into all four languages.
- sleepydear is a small family project by Giulia and Felipe. Giulia writes, shapes and reads each story aloud; Felipe builds the site and app and keeps everything calm. You can read more on our About page.

Reading & listening
- Every story is written to be read aloud, in your own voice — and soft audio narration is on the way for the nights when you'd like a little help.
- No. The stories are made for listening, not watching. With narration you can dim or put away the screen entirely and let the words do the work.
- A dedicated app is on its way, designed for cozy offline reading. For now, stories are read on the website with a connection.

Safety & privacy
- Never. There are no villains, no fear and no cliffhangers. Words stay simple, scenes stay soft, and the last page is always the slowest — made to ease little ones toward sleep, not wake them up.
- No. We don't collect data about your child, and we never will. Your bedtime is yours alone.
- No ads, ever. Nothing in sleepydear is designed to grab attention or sell anything — only to help the night wind down.
- You can read our published stories freely. An account will only ever be needed for personalized features as they arrive, and even then we'll ask for as little as possible.
